Thirrsty.com ("Thirrsty", "we", "us", or "our") is operated by Banks Class LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile and web application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using Thirrsty you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information you provide at signup: email address, display name, and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Profile information you choose to add: bio, avatar photo, and posts/stories you publish.
• Usage data: venue check-ins, QR scans, posts, likes, comments, and "Go Live" status.
• Approximate location when you opt in to nearby venue discovery (we never track your continuous location; you can revoke this at any time in your browser settings).
• Device data: browser type, OS, IP address, and approximate region — used to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
• Communications: messages you send through the Contact form or to our support team.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18, and we do not collect health, biometric, or financial account information.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the Service (display your timeline, generate your QR code, deliver venue discounts).
• To verify your identity and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access.
• To improve the Service by analyzing aggregated, de-identified usage patterns.
• To send transactional messages (account changes, password resets) — never marketing emails without your explicit opt-in.
• To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful government requests.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited cases:

• With partner venues when you scan your QR at their location — they see your display name, avatar, and check-in time so they can apply your discount.
• Publicly: posts, stories, comments, and your profile display name/avatar are visible to other Thirrsty users by design.
• With service providers that help us run the Service (cloud hosting, error logging) under strict confidentiality agreements.
• When required by law: subpoena, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
• In a business transfer: if Banks Class LLC is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer subject to this Policy.

4. Your Rights & Choices

• Access & correction: View and edit your profile at any time in the app.
• Account deletion: Permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Danger zone → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. We retain only the minimal information required by law (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes).
• Opt-out of marketing: We don't send marketing by default. If we ever do, every message will include a one-click unsubscribe.
• CCPA / GDPR rights: California and EU residents may request a copy of their data or its deletion. Email us at the address below.
• Do Not Track: We honor browser Do-Not-Track signals by not loading third-party analytics.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use only first-party cookies and browser local storage strictly necessary to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, posts, stories, check-ins, and profile data are removed within 24 hours. Backups are rotated within 30 days.

7. Security

We protect your data with HTTPS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, and JWT-based authentication. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password and contact us immediately if you suspect your account is compromised.

8. Children's Privacy

Thirrsty is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Users

Thirrsty is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted in the app and dated at the top of this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Policy.
